Metronidazole is the drug of first choice to treat necrotising gingivitis and pericoronitis.
Review patients who have received a course of antibiotic treatment.
An appropriate 3-day regimen is:
Metronidazole Tablets, 400 mg

Label: 1 tablet three times daily
