Prescribing for specific patient groups
Prescribing for specific patient groups
Consult the most up-to-date volume of the BNF before prescribing for adults.
Prescribing for certain groups who may have additional or complex needs, such as the elderly, patients who are immunocompromised, patients who are pregnant and nursing mothers may differ from prescribing for the general adult population.
Patients suffering from an unrelated medical condition (e.g. renal or liver impairment) or taking other medication may require modifications to the management of their dental condition.
Certain drugs which are licensed for use in adults are not licensed for use in children.
Consult the most up-to-date volume of the BNFC before prescribing for children.
